About this board game

Escape from Hades is a solitaire science-fiction adventure for one player, designed to unfold in about 90 minutes. You must rescue a captured princess, heir to the Laylian Empire, from an impenetrable prison swarming with Nastian warriors while racing against time.

Your mission begins with an opposed landing on the prison’s surface. Destroy its defenses, find a way into the maintenance shafts, fight through the interior, reach the princess, and then battle your way back out. Meanwhile, your ship is fighting for its mechanical life against squadrons of enemy fighters and surface defenses.

The game uses two wraparound hex maps, representing the exterior and interior of a cylindrical prison. This unusual structure supports a challenging journey in which the route in and the route out are both part of the adventure.
