About this board game

Bismarck Solitaire is a solo, 45-minute pen-and-book wargame from Worthington Publishing, released in 2021. Command the German ships Bismarck and Prinz Eugen, along with U-boat support, while facing the determined Royal Navy.

Your campaign includes eight missions with varying objectives and difficulty, plus two training cruises. The Royal Navy has one overriding aim: sink the Bismarck. Your mission goals may instead require finding convoys, sinking British warships, or simply surviving the sortie.

• Play as a one-player naval command experience.
• Use a map and orders provided in the game book.
• Roll two dice to determine events and resolve each turn.
• Move ships, fight battles, and plot movement on the map.
• Receive three attempts to best the Royal Navy in each mission.

Each turn begins by rolling two dice and cross-referencing the result on an event chart. Resolve the event, fight any battles, and then plot your movement on the map. When the mission’s victory conditions are achieved, the game ends.

Bismarck Solitaire requires only two dice, a pen, and a sense of adventure. Replay the missions as often as you like: because events and decisions unfold differently from game to game, no two sorties are the same.
