About this board game

The Shivers is a cooperative pop-up mystery game for 2–5 players, with play sessions lasting about 90 minutes. Players explore a magical mansion, solve spooky puzzles, and uncover a changing story through handcrafted pop-up components.

Each scenario places one player in the role of the Storyteller, similar to a role-playing game GameMaster. The Storyteller knows the whole story and facilitates the other players as they investigate, but is not an adversary and cannot win or lose. Their goal is to make the experience as fun as possible for the group.

Everyone else plays cooperatively as a member of the Shivers family. Using a patent-pending modular pop-up system, the group discovers new clues, puzzles, room layouts, and foes as the mystery unfolds. Once one episode is complete, the system can be quickly changed to reveal a completely new story.
