About this board game

Dodekka is a 20-minute card game for 2–6 players about collecting the highest possible score in one of five suits.

The deck contains cards numbered 0–4 in each color. At the start of the game, three cards are placed face up on the table, creating the display that drives every turn.

On your turn, you can take the first card on display, or reveal a card from the deck and add it to the end of the row. This simple choice becomes increasingly important as the cards in the display build toward the game’s limit.

If the sum of all cards on display becomes more than twelve, you must pick up every card in the row. Managing the display is therefore central to Dodekka: taking a useful card can improve your position, while revealing another card may force you to collect cards you would rather avoid.

  • Five suits: Aim to score strongly in one suit.
  • Cards numbered 0–4: The deck uses these values in each color.
  • Display management: Choose between taking the first available card or adding a new card to the row.
  • A push-your-luck limit: When the display totals more than twelve, all displayed cards must be picked up.

Your ideal result is a high score in one suit and as few cards as possible in the others, since cards from those other suits count against you. Play continues until the deck runs out, then the player with the highest score wins.

With its compact rules and tense card-display decisions, Dodekka offers a focused game for small groups and larger tables alike.
