About this board game
DrunkQuest is a fantasy-based card game for 3–6 players, with fast-paced gameplay that takes about 30 minutes. Players compete to level up to 6 by defeating monsters in Drunk Combat—and each monster requires its drink value to be taken before it can be defeated.
At the beginning of the game, every player receives a Hero class, such as a wizard or warrior, along with a Realm card showing where that hero comes from. These cards provide permanent bonuses and actions that remain available throughout the game, helping shape each player’s approach to the contest.
Players also start with five treasure cards. Treasures can provide permanent bonuses through weapons and gear, or create problems for opposing heroes by making their monsters harder to defeat, removing rewards, or even stealing a monster for yourself.
- Fantasy competition: Choose a Hero class and Realm, each offering lasting bonuses and actions.
- Monster battles: Take a monster’s drink value to defeat it in Drunk Combat.
- Take-that treasures: Add drinks to an opponent’s monster, remove rewards, or steal the monster.
- Race to level 6: Each defeated monster normally grants one level.
Every monster defeated usually raises its victor by one level, although treasure cards can change that result. Since other players may interfere with your monster while pursuing their own, every battle can affect the whole table.
The first player to reach level 6 wins. Released in 2013, DrunkQuest combines fantasy characters, direct player competition, monster challenges, treasure-card disruption, and drinking into a quick race for victory.
