Size Wise

About this board game

Size Wise is a guessing game for 3–8 players that takes about 25 minutes to play. Estimate the size of unusual objects, compare your answers with everyone else’s, and try to think like the other players.

There is no single right answer. Each round, a card asks a question such as “What is the size of a mermaid’s fin?” or “What is the size of a bowling pin?” You respond by sliding a bead along a string to show the size you believe the object has.

Once everyone has answered, hold the strings side by side. The player with the longest answer and the player with the shortest answer each lose one wisdom token. Your goal is not simply to make a reasonable estimate, but to judge how the rest of the table might respond.

As the rounds continue, players must balance their own ideas against the likely answers of everyone else. When a player loses their last bit of wisdom, the wisest player wins.
