Opération Commando: Pegasus Bridge is a two-player historical strategy game, with sessions lasting about 60 minutes, that recreates three British 6th Airborne missions during the night of 5–6 June 1944.

One player commands the English forces while the other leads the defending German troops. Each turn takes place on a different battlefield, with terrain-specific characteristics. Players draw from their own decks, play events, and then resolve an assault in a tense exchange of units and combat values.

The German player commits a unit first. The English player must answer with a unit whose Combat value matches or exceeds it, using combat action cards and tokens to increase strength when needed. Both sides may continue boosting their units before one player stops. If the English unit is destroyed, the commandos lose one of their three Manpower Points but move on; if a German unit falls, another may enter the fight according to the battlefield’s size.

Powerful heroic cards add a layer of hidden planning. Every two turns, each player secretly chooses one card from a special reserve to add to their hand. These cards cannot be countered and depict real officers and historical events, making timing and selection especially important.

The game includes three distinct scenarios, each with its own cards and gameplay:

• Pegasus Bridge: capture the bridge at Bénouville so the landed troops can advance inland.
• Merville Gun Battery: assault the fortified battery threatening the landing beaches.
• Dives: destroy two of four bridges to prevent the 21st Panzer Division from reinforcing German forces.
