Pillars of Eternity: Lords of the Eastern Reach is a 1–4 player card game with an approximately 120-minute play time, based on Obsidian Entertainment’s award-winning and best-selling Pillars of Eternity computer role-playing game.

Players take the roles of lords and ladies seeking to strengthen their domains. Hire troops, recruit heroes, and build defenses to withstand fiendish monsters as well as attacks from fellow players.

Resources are limited and represented by counters, while buildings and armies are represented by cards. Each turn, players draw a number of resources, with unused resources passed on to the other players. Managing these resources is central to developing your forces and defenses.

Players can choose whether to pursue dangerous adventures or engage in battles against their fellow players. The game includes several types of cards and tokens to support its setting and systems, along with dice, an event tile, an event die, a resource bag, and an ethereal piglet.
