About this board game

Runar is a competitive board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Each player forms and guides a Warband of three Viking Heroes across frozen, dangerous lands filled with savage creatures and powerful Enemies.

At the heart of the game is a hunt for mysterious Runic Gems, fragments of divine power left behind after the Gods came to defend Mannheimr from the Jotunn. With high player interaction and comic-style miniatures, every journey brings the Warbands into a harsh struggle for glory.

Victory points can be earned in several ways, rewarding both bold battles and clever objectives. Players compete to:

• Defeat powerful Enemies
• Retrieve valuable Runic Gems
• Complete a variety of objectives
• Defeat opposing Heroes

Destiny Cards mark unique moments during the game and trigger the final round, creating a clear race toward the conclusion. When the battle ends, the Warband with the most victory points wins and earns access to Ragnarok.

Runar offers two ways to experience its Viking adventure. Play a single match with Heroes at full power, or follow a five-episode campaign in which your Heroes evolve throughout the journey. Whether pursuing gems, confronting Enemies, or challenging rival Warbands, each game builds toward an epic clash in a frozen world.
