About this board game
Volle Weide is a quick roll-and-write game for 1–6 players that takes about 10 minutes to play. Players roll a six-sided die, draw the matching fence on their map, and work toward completely fencing in sheep.
The game lasts for a minimum of 10 rounds, but its timing is shaped by the results of the rolls. Each turn, the die result is added to a time tracker only when it differs from the result of the previous round. If the same number is rolled repeatedly, the game lasts longer.
Every fence drawing matters as players build enclosed areas on the map. The aim is to create complete enclosures around sheep, since points are awarded for the total number of sheep successfully fenced in.
- Roll a six-sided die.
- Draw the matching fence on the map.
- Add the result to the time tracker when it differs from the previous round.
- Score fenced-in sheep after the tracker reaches 6 and again after it reaches 10.
Scoring takes place twice: first after 6 rounds on the time tracker, then after 10. The second scoring ends the game, and the player with the most total points wins.
Released in 2020, Volle Weide offers a compact puzzle of rolling, drawing, and enclosing. Its changing pace means repeated die results can extend the game, while every turn presents another opportunity to complete sheep enclosures and improve your score.
