About this board game

(Your Name Here) and the Argonauts is a solo adventure game for 1 player, designed to play in about 20 minutes. Set in Grecian mythology, it casts you as a hero seeking treasure, battling monsters, and earning a place in the retelling of legendary tales.

Your adventure begins with an initially 30-card deck representing the monsters, treasures, and gods that will shape your story. Each turn, reveal the top three cards and allocate your crew members among them. You then roll against each card, with more crew assigned to a task improving the likelihood of resolving it positively.

• Defeat monsters and claim treasures.
• Seek the favors of the gods.
• Risk losing treasures or sending crew members to Hades when rolls fail.

You are part of the crew, so survival matters: once all your crew members have died, you will also be on your way to meet Charon. If the adventure deck is exhausted, the adventure is complete and you have won. But victory is only the beginning of the story.

After each successful retelling, the tale grows taller and more outlandish. Cards include checkboxes that track their level over repeated games: defeated monsters become stronger, captured treasures lose durability, and some monsters even add reinforcements to the deck.

Your hero can also develop between successful adventures. Leveling up lets you begin future games with a larger crew and add new items to the deck.
