About this board game

Borodino: Battle of the Moskova, 1812 is a two-player board wargame for 1–2 players with an approximately 120-minute play time. It is the second volume in the Triumph & Glory series, also known as the Jours de Gloire series.

The game covers the classic Battle of Borodino using brigade-level orders of battle based on the latest research, including material sourced directly from Russia. Its map uses a scale of 297 meters per hex, while each strength point represents 200 men. Game time is measured at 75 minutes per game turn.

Players can explore the full Borodino battle, while the French player also has the opportunity to attempt Davout’s suggested flanking maneuver. This option is explicitly fraught with danger, adding a distinctive decision to the larger scenario without requiring details beyond the historical situation represented by the game.

Borodino: Battle of the Moskova, 1812 also includes the Attack on the Schevardino Redoubt, a shorter introductory mini-battle set two days before the main engagement. It provides a compact way to approach the game alongside the complete Borodino scenario.

  • 420 full-color die-cut counters
  • One 22×34-inch full-color map sheet
  • One 10-sided die
  • One 24-page rule book
  • Two player aid cards

With its brigade-level orders of battle, researched historical setting, full battle scenario, and shorter introductory engagement, the game presents Borodino in a compact series format. It is designed for one or two players and offers a focused examination of one of the Napoleonic era’s classic battles.
