Forest of Radgost

About this board game

Forest of Radgost is a cooperative storytelling role-playing game for 1–7 players, with adventures lasting around 90 minutes. Set in IX century Europe, it sends a search party into a sacred forest to find two children who have disappeared from their village.

Players take on characters with individual backstories, motivations, and skill sets. They must cross the boundary between the human world and the realm of the Slavic deity Radgost, where strange beings such as the Psoglav, Lesnik, and Todorci threaten human intruders.

The forest is represented by interconnected footpaths. A pair of dice determines the distance and direction of movement, creating the uncertainty of being lost among the trees. At each crossroads, players face encounters without knowing which creature awaits them.

Players may separate from and rejoin other members of the search party as they explore the forest. Their decisions determine how encounters unfold through the numerous scenarios in the accompanying encounter book, while collected items and newly gained skills help them survive.

Drawing on four years of research into Slavic mythology, Forest of Radgost combines detailed miniatures, immersive storytelling, and a rich mythological setting. Along the way, the search party may also discover the secret reason the druid selected them for this dangerous mission.
