About this board game
Sisimizi is a 1996 board game for 2–4 players that takes about 45 minutes, in which competing ant colonies try to link all their ant mounds together.
Each player works to create chains of ants connecting one ant mound to the next. The central objective is to establish links across the colony and connect all of that player’s mounds.
However, players are not building in isolation. While extending their own chains, they also attempt to cut off other players’ chains, creating direct competition between every colony on the way to completing its network.
- Create chains of ants between ant mounds.
- Work toward linking all of your own mounds together.
- Cut off opposing chains to hinder rival colonies.
This combination of connection and interference gives Sisimizi a focused competitive premise. Progress depends not only on forming links for your own colony, but also on preventing opponents from successfully joining their mounds.
Designed for 2 to 4 players, Sisimizi offers a shared contest in which every colony is trying to complete its connections while disrupting the routes of its rivals. Its 45-minute play time suits a concentrated game of competing networks and contested chains.
