Take it Higher!

About this board game

Take it Higher! is a tile-laying pattern game for 1–6 players, with a playing time of about 25 minutes. Released in 2009, it builds on the foundation of Take it Easy! with octagonal tiles, center-color bonuses, and rocket ships.

Each tile features four scoring lines running through it, rather than three. As you place tiles on your individual playing board, aim to complete colored lines and maximize the points they provide.

• Octagonal tiles: Every tile has four scoring lines.
• Silver and gold centers: Completing a colored line whose tile centers are all silver or all gold provides an additional 9- or 10-point bonus per tile.
• Rocket ships: Completing a colored line may let you place a rocket of the corresponding color on the tile you just placed.

The rocket ships are available from the beginning of the game, positioned on numbered circles on the individual playing boards. Their locations add another consideration to your tile placements as you work toward completed lines.

At the end of the game, rockets contribute to a further bonus. You receive points for the highest empty space that has no rocket ships lower than it, rewarding careful attention to the numbered spaces throughout play.

With its combination of line completion, center-color bonuses, and rocket positioning, Take it Higher! offers a compact scoring puzzle for up to six players. The added features give the familiar foundation a new way to think about every tile placement.
