About this board game

Goats & Goblins is a push-your-luck game for 2–6 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Lead expeditions into a treacherous cave, where valuable treasure awaits alongside escaped goats, goblins, and the danger of collapse.

On your turn, you lead an expedition below the surface and decide whether to invite other players to join you or stay behind. The deeper you go, the greater the potential reward—but too many Cave-Ins can ruin the mission and force explorers to drop their treasure as they flee.

Successful expeditions let the exploring players gain valuable cards to divide among themselves. Failed expeditions reward the players who did not explore the cave instead, creating opportunities to benefit from another group’s risky choices. Some cards can also be played to support or hinder expeditions, adding further ways to influence each descent.

• Push-your-luck exploration: Choose how far to press your expedition into the risky depths.
• Shared decisions: Invite fellow players to explore with you or remain behind.
• Treasure and sabotage: Collect valuable cards while using support and hindrance cards to affect expeditions.
• Changing rewards: Successful and failed missions distribute cards to different groups of players.

The game ends when the Cave deck is gone or almost gone, with fewer than three cards remaining. Everyone then counts the gold on their unplayed cards, and the goblin with the most gold wins.
