About this board game

Puns of Anarchy is a rapid-fire pun-making game for 3–6 players, with a playing time of 90 minutes. Released in 2020, it challenges players to transform familiar phrases into hilarious wordplay.

Each round, every player serves as the judge of a category, such as food or reasons to worry. Players also receive punnable cards featuring phrases like The Walking Dead or Brave New World, then modify those phrases with a dry-erase marker.

Once a phrase has been rewritten, it is placed in another player’s category. The goal is to create a pun that fits the category and stands out from the competition. No bands or movies are safe from becoming the basis for a new piece of wordplay.

• Judge categories such as food or reasons to worry.

• Place your puns in another player’s category.
• Choose the pun you like best and award the category card to its creator.

The round ends when every category contains at least four puns. Players then decide which pun they like best and give the corresponding category card to the person who played it.

Play continues from round to round as players compete to collect category cards. In Puns of Anarchy, the first player to earn ten category cards wins, making every rewrite and every category choice part of the race to the finish.
