About this board game
Myths at War is a card game for 2–6 players, with games lasting around 20 minutes. Set in a fantastic world where different mythologies coexist, it challenges players to build distinct decks and pursue varied strategies.
This first installment contains 300 cards from the Nordic, Egyptian, and Japanese mythologies. Each mythology includes two pantheons, which define the direction of a deck, as well as cards for the gods deck and designs deck.
- Gods deck: characters, events, and resources
- Designs deck: actions, equipment, and summonings
- Deck construction: at least 51 cards, made up of 1 pantheon, 20 gods, and 30 designs
During play, each player brings into play the cards their oracles offer and uses cards from the designs deck in two important phases. In the influence phase, gods plan from their pantheon. In the confrontation phase, characters who choose to enter battle fight to reduce the opponent’s power.
Success comes from combining the strengths of a chosen mythology, pantheon, and deck strategy while responding to the cards and opportunities available during the game. Players can seek supremacy or consign their opponent to oblivion.
Expansions add more mythologies, characters, actions, and strategic possibilities, while each expansion can also be played on its own. With its flexible deck-building system and dynamic battles, Myths at War offers a compact contest between legendary traditions.
