About this board game
1955: The War of Espionage is a two-player strategy game played in about 30 minutes, in which rival Master Spies use their countries’ resources to influence six countries and shift their allegiances.
Both players draw from a communal deck while building their hands and searching for card combinations. Each card can be used offensively, defensively, or for a special effect, giving every play multiple possibilities and making careful planning essential.
Players also maneuver their Master Spy pawn to improve the effectiveness of their cards or trigger an offensive action that can catch the opponent off guard. Success comes from balancing immediate opportunities with the broader effort to bring countries into your faction.
- Designed specifically for two players
- Cards support offensive, defensive, and special-effect uses
- Influence the allegiance of six different countries
- Master Spy pawn positioning adds tactical timing and maneuvering
- Experienced games take about 15–30 minutes; inexperienced players may take 30–45 minutes
The game is marketed for ages 14 and up. Its compact play time and direct two-player focus make each decision meaningful, as players compete to use shared card resources more effectively than their opponent.
