The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – Two-Player Limited Edition Starter is a cooperative card game for 1–2 players, in which each player leads a band of adventurers attempting to complete dangerous quests in Middle-earth.

Players must work together to overcome scenarios controlled by the game. This starter box provides a ready-to-play introduction with two pre-built player decks, constructed from previously released cards and updated with two new heroes and all-new graphic design.

The box also includes two unique scenarios, along with the threat trackers and tokens required to play them. Together, these contents provide a focused way for two players to begin exploring the cooperative challenges of The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game.

As a Living Card Game, the experience can be expanded with additional cards and quests available in regular expansions. These additions allow players to customize the contents of this set or create their own original decks.

With the addition of a copy of the core set, up to four players can play cooperatively. The scenarios included here were later rereleased as The Dark of Mirkwood scenario pack, while this 2018 limited edition starter remains a compact entry point featuring pre-built decks and dedicated scenarios.
