Burst

About this board game

Burst is a card game for 3–6 players, with each game taking about 30 minutes. Released in 2025, it challenges players to manage numbered cards while watching the total value of a shared faceup row.

Every card features a number from -3 to 15, and each player can hold a maximum of three cards. During each round, players choose whether to draw a card from the deck or play a card faceup.

• Faceup cards are placed in a row next to the deck.
• The values of the cards in the row are totaled.
• Playing a card that takes the row’s total over twenty-one causes a burst.

When a player bursts, the round ends immediately, and that player receives zero points. Every other player collects the points in their hand, making each decision at the table matter as the row develops.

With cards ranging from negative values to fifteen and a hand limit of three, Burst presents a compact card-play system built around the row’s changing total. Drawing preserves the current row, while playing adds a new value and can push the total beyond the limit.

Designed for 3–6 players, Burst offers a straightforward round structure centered on drawing, playing, and avoiding the value that ends the round. Keep an eye on the shared row, choose when to add a card, and try not to be the player who takes the total over twenty-one.
