About this board game

Deductio is a deduction game for 2–4 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Each player receives a Secret Number card from 1 to 20, and everyone works to deduce the numbers held by their opponents before their own number is discovered.

On your turn, choose one of the three face-up Clue cards that truthfully describes your Secret Number. Every clue you provide gives the other players another piece of information, helping them gradually narrow down the possible numbers they are considering.

Deductio challenges you to balance the information you reveal with the information you collect. A clue must accurately describe your number, but selecting one may make your Secret Number easier for opponents to identify. Pay attention to the clues already available and use them to refine your deductions.

• Secret Numbers range from 1 to 20.

• Guess an opponent’s Secret Number instead of providing a clue.

You can also take a more direct and dangerous approach: instead of offering a clue about your own Secret Number, guess another player’s. An incorrect guess has a cost, forcing you to take two Clue cards that truthfully describe your number. That gives opponents additional information to work with.
