About this board game

Time’s Up! Family 2 is a charades-based party game for 4–12 players, with a typical play time of 30 minutes. Teams of two or more players compete to help their teammates guess as many cards as possible during 30-second turns.

Before play begins, each participant looks through several cards featuring well-known items, crafts, and animals, then chooses some of them. The selected cards are shuffled into one deck, which is used throughout all three rounds. This means clues given early can become valuable reminders later.

Each round changes how clues may be delivered:

• Round 1: Almost any kind of clue is allowed, but the cluegiver cannot pass on a card.
• Round 2: Each clue may use no more than one word, although unlimited sounds and gestures are allowed. The cluegiver may pass, while teammates get only one answer.
• Round 3: Words are forbidden, so cluegivers must rely entirely on gestures. Passing is allowed as often as desired, and teammates again have only one guess.

Good physical clues in the first round can pay off when the same cards return and communication becomes more restricted. As the game progresses, familiar cards, quick thinking, and increasingly expressive gestures become essential.
