About this board game

IceDice is a push-your-luck dice game for 2–4 players with an approximately 5-minute play time, in which players roll dice to complete three matching sets of pyramids.

Each turn presents a choice between pursuing the pyramids you need from the bank and taking a chance on the dice. If the bank cannot provide the pyramids you want, you may steal them from an opponent, adding direct interaction to the race to complete your sets.

The game centers on a compact collection of components that support its pyramid-building objective:

• Two rainbow stashes of pyramids
• Two custom dice
• A pyramid-shaped cloth carrying case

IceDice is a new packaging of Looney Pyramids, also known as Icehouse pieces. The two rainbow stashes provide the pyramid supply for the game, while the custom dice determine the opportunities available as players try to assemble matching sets.

With its brief playing time and push-your-luck structure, IceDice offers a focused contest for players who enjoy dice-driven decisions and the possibility of taking needed pieces from an opponent. It was released in 2011 and is also included in Pyramid Arcade and Ice Duo.

Whether used as a standalone game or as an introduction to the Looney Pyramids system, IceDice puts its central challenge in clear terms: roll for the pyramids you need, manage the bank, and complete three matching sets before your opponent does.
