About this board game

Tadmor is an intense worker placement game for 2–4 players, with sessions lasting about 120 minutes, set along the dangerous caravan routes of the Syrian Desert. As wealthy merchants based in Tadmor, also known as Palmyra, players expand their trading enterprises and pursue personal prestige.

Send your Camels and Ships to locations across the board to gather wood, stones, marble and gold. These resources can be used to acquire rare goods, fulfil missions presented by the King, or contribute to the construction of the city temple and tower. The merchant with the most Prestige Points at the end of the game wins.

• Build the Tower: Gain prestige during the game and potentially boost your final score, but face strong competition and increasing construction costs.
• Acquire Rare Goods: Develop your collection to gain more ships and pursue sets that can improve your end-game scoring.
• Complete King’s Missions: Earn valuable prestige at the end of the game while gaining one-off benefits that may prove crucial at the right moment.
• Construct the Temple: Add prestige gradually and aim for a dramatic reward by completing the entire construction.

Success does not make your merchants safe. Marauders can sweep across the Syrian Desert or sail along the coast, intercepting and robbing peaceful traders. You must anticipate which region they will attack and avoid sending your Camels and Ships into danger, or risk losing them.

Different improvements encourage different strategies and let you excel in specific areas. Because the available mix of improvements changes from game to game, Tadmor offers varied decisions and ensures that no two sessions unfold in quite the same way.
