About this board game

Scattergories Categories is a fast-thinking word game for 2–4 players, with a playing time of approximately 35 minutes. Released in 2010, it offers a fresh twist on the familiar Scattergories concept.

Each challenge presents a word written vertically. Players brainstorm a word beginning with every letter in that word, creating a set of answers under time pressure. For example, the word FOOD can inspire Frankfurter, Olive, Oatmeal, and Dumplings.

The two-minute sand timer keeps turns moving and encourages quick thinking. With 250 word challenges included across 125 cards, the game provides plenty of prompts for repeated play.
