About this board game

Cuvée is an action-drafting strategy game for 2–4 players, lasting about 90 minutes, in which you build a world-class winery over six years.

Each of the game’s six rounds represents one year and is divided into five seasons. At the beginning of each round, players select their preferences for the available seasonal actions, shaping their plans for the year ahead. Careful timing and preparation are essential as the seasons unfold.

Begin with two basic vineyards, then develop your business by optimizing grape production, improving quality, and blending wines into high-quality cuvées. Weather cards introduce the forces of nature, so preventive measures can be vital when conditions threaten your plans.

• Expand your cellar and vineyard operations.
• Build and operate wine houses, restaurants, and guesthouses.
• Supply your facilities with enough wine and pay your workers.
• Sell wine on local and international markets, where quality and demand affect prices.

Success depends on more than making excellent wine. Facilities must be supplied and maintained, while your wines can be sold directly, traded with wholesalers, or entered into annual wine-rating contests. Award-winning wines command higher prices, making prestigious cuvées particularly valuable.

Event cards add further possibilities, including loans, grants, and promotion. In Cuvée, every decision contributes to the growth of your winery and your prestige total. After six years of production, expansion, sales, and competition, the player with the most prestige points wins.
