About this board game

The 6 Days of Glory is an operational Napoleonic wargame for 1–3 players, with scenarios playable in under 3 hours and a listed play time of 180 minutes. Set in February 1814, it recreates Napoleon’s desperate campaign against the Prussian and Russian coalition on the road to Paris.

Napoleon moves first in every scenario as French forces attempt to defeat Blücher’s Prussians and Sacken’s Russians. Three compact scenarios focus on separate battles: Champaubert on 9–10 February, Montmirail on 11–12 February, and Vauchamps on 13–14 February. A linked campaign connects all three engagements from 9–14 February.

The game uses a standard command check, movement, and combat sequence, with an additional night turn in which armies can force march to outmaneuver their opponents. Leadership Initiative and Chain-of-Command rules make command decisions important, while artillery bombardment, supply, and demoralization add further operational pressures.

  • Weather: afternoon mud affects wheeled units.
  • Bridges and pontoons: Allied forces can move across pontoon trains and bridges.
  • Repulse: attacks at odds greater than 5-to-1 can produce a repulse.
  • Team play: Allied command may be divided between Prussian and Russian forces, with communication requiring written messages.

Designed by Kevin Zucker and developed by Paul Dangel, The 6 Days of Glory includes a 22-by-34-inch map by Rick Barber, 280 counters, and a rulebook with historical commentary. Its map scale is 1,600 metres per hex, with turns representing six hours and units generally representing divisions.
