Eagles of the Empire: Preussisch-Eylau is a two-player grand tactical game of Napoleonic battlefield combat, with an approximate playing time of 180 minutes.

Set during the famous battle fought against the Russians on 7–8 February 1807, the game brings the harsh conditions of a dead-winter campaign to the table. It is Volume III of the Eagles of the Empire series and includes revised rules designed to simplify and enhance the overall feel of a Napoleonic battle.

Movement and formation positioning use a unique geomorphic map. This map system regulates the movement and placement of large infantry formations, providing the framework for maneuver across the battlefield.

Players alternate activating their forces, creating a back-and-forth flow as each side commits formations and responds to opposing actions. When combat occurs, both players make simultaneous modified die rolls, while units absorb step losses as the fighting takes its toll.
