About this board game
Rogue Dungeon is a solo roguelike dungeon crawl for 1 player, designed to play in about 60 minutes. Choose a Rogue, gather starting loot and skills, set your stats, and enter a dangerous dungeon where careful decisions can turn a fragile adventurer into a hero.
At its heart, Rogue Dungeon is a loot management game. A play mat emulates a CRPG interface, organizing equipment into thematic spaces for weapons, shields, armor, helmets, gauntlets, boots, scrolls, and a backpack full of loot. Items can solve problems, improve survival, or create unexpected chains of clever interactions.
Use mini maps to choose which room to explore next. Traders offer exchanges involving loot, stats, or henchmen, while combat rooms pit you against monsters drawn from the monster deck. Resolve attacks with your Rogue’s primary stat and a D10, and protect yourself by using armor, skills, magical items, potions, or food.
- Traders: Exchange loot or stats for useful items, advantages, or henchmen.
- Combat: Defeat monsters to earn loot and experience points.
- Traps: Use equipment or Strength, Agility, and Intelligence tests to bypass danger.
- Luck: Spend luck to adjust a die result or reroll completely.
Progress through five dungeon levels, with staircases providing safe places to camp and opportunities to level your Rogue using earned XP. The final room contains a boss with special abilities that may summon monsters, drain your level, heal, or otherwise change the fight.
Rogue Dungeon is difficult, and death is part of the challenge. Experience and skillful play can help veteran Rogues survive more often as they learn how to make the most of limited resources and thematic loot.
