About this board game

Dragon Punch is a quick two-player card game that plays in about 10 minutes, challenging opponents to outwit each other with the timing and positioning of attacks and defenses. Inspired by video games such as the Street Fighter series, it turns a head-to-head fight into a compact guessing game.

In each round, the goal is to reduce your opponent’s health to zero. During every turn, both players secretly choose a move card from their hands before revealing their choices simultaneously. Moves can attack, block, or evade at a particular location—high or low—and each has a speed that helps determine the outcome.

• Predict your opponent’s next move while choosing the right attack or defense.
• Use timing, positioning, and speed to deal damage or shift the initiative.
• Manage cards that may not be used again for a while after being chosen.
• Take advantage of opportunities to secretly upgrade your moves after suffering damage.
• Use your character card’s unique special moves to change the fight.

Because chosen cards may be temporarily unavailable and damage can create new possibilities, the guessing game never plays out exactly the same way twice. Every exchange asks whether you should commit to an attack, protect yourself, or evade at the right location.

Dragon Punch is designed for maximum portability. It consists of only a few cards and requires no table or other playing surface, making it easy to enjoy a quick brawl against a friend almost anywhere.
