Ink It!

About this board game

Ink It! is a cooperative drawing and deduction game for 2–8 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Across five rounds, players create stamped pictures while their teammates try to match each drawing to its word.

Each round, a different player—or several players, depending on the player count—becomes the Captain. Every other player receives a word card showing one concept or item to represent. Instead of drawing freely, they must use only four rubber stamps and ink pads to build their clue.

The number of stamp strokes available changes from round to round. Players may use the same stamp repeatedly, overlap shapes, or stamp partly or completely outside the frame, but they cannot stretch a shape like a pen, change a shape’s color, or spell letters. The limit falls from five stamps in the first round to just one in the final round, making each new set of clues more minimalist than the last.

Once everyone has finished, the word cards and drawings are revealed. The Captain must determine which word belongs to each drawing, and every incorrect match adds to the team’s mistakes.

In Ink It!, cooperation is essential: if the Captains’ total mistakes exceeds the number of players, the game ends in an immediate loss. Complete all five rounds without crossing that limit, and the whole team wins together.
