About this board game
Der weiße Lotus is a board game for 3–6 players, with sessions lasting about 80 minutes, set amid conflict in China during the Middle Ages.
Each player seeks to establish as much control as possible over the various provinces throughout China. Achieving that goal requires a combination of military and political wrangling, as players contest territories and decide where to concentrate their efforts.
Resource management is central to the struggle. Players must consider how to use their resources while choosing where they want to push most strongly in fights over particular provinces. Every decision helps shape the balance of control across the map of China.
The reigning emperor also faces repeated challenges. Throughout the game, revolts break out, forcing players to choose which side they will join. These decisions can have serious consequences: picking the wrong side too many times will cost you the game.
- Control provinces through military and political conflict.
- Manage resources while deciding where to focus your efforts.
- Choose a side during revolts against the reigning emperor.
With its combination of territorial influence, resource decisions, and shifting allegiances, Der weiße Lotus places every player under pressure to judge both immediate opportunities and the consequences of their political choices. Released in 2000, it offers a focused contest for control in a turbulent medieval China.
