About this board game

Dragons of Kir is a fast-paced, two-player strategy board game that plays in about 20 minutes. Players strategically place tiles to deflect one of four constantly moving dragons into their opponent’s war tent while defending their own.

Every tile placement can change the tactical situation. Colorful tiles represent the forces of nature and the forces of man, interacting with the dragons and influencing their movement across the board.

The board creates an ever-changing landscape in which opposite edges connect. Clever tile play can turn a dragon’s path toward your opponent, but the next marauding dragon may threaten you just as quickly. Success depends on balancing offense and defense rather than focusing on a single attack.

Dragons of Kir is a themed version of Darter, which won the 2006 Origins Vanguard Innovative Game Award at Gama. It introduces some new tiles and different rules while retaining the central idea of redirecting moving threats through strategic placement.

The 4 Player Wood Expansion Set adds rules for three and four players, along with wood dragons and war tents. It also introduces the dragon token for expanded play.
