About this board game

Urbify is a political strategy board game for 2–4 players, played in about 45 minutes, in which parties compete to shape a rapidly growing city and finish with the most prestige.

Players use their influence and personnel across four city councils: economy, transport, culture, and tourism. By navigating these councils, they pursue building licenses, construct projects in the city, and build the prestige needed to become the most popular party.

On each turn, your available options depend on whether you still have meeples in your reserve. If you do, you can send a meeple to one of the four councils at city hall, or choose an available building tile and place your meeples on it in the city. Constructing a building requires the necessary council points and earns prestige.

  • Influence the economy, transport, culture, and tourism councils.
  • Spend council points to construct available building tiles.
  • Inaugurate buildings to remove your meeples and gain their different benefits.

Once you have no meeples left in reserve, you can resolve one of the four councils to obtain council points or inaugurate buildings already in the city. These choices create a changing balance between gaining resources for future construction and activating the benefits of completed projects.

The game ends when all the buildings have been constructed. In Urbify, the political party with the most prestige when the city’s construction is complete wins.
