Hanau 1813 is a two-player historical battle game covering the final events of the 1813 Campaign in Germany. It is the 36th battle in the Jours de Gloire series, placing players in command of opposing armies during the Battle of Hanau.
The game covers two connected days of fighting. On October 30, 1813, Napoleon faces Wrede as the French confront their former Bavarian allies. On October 31, Marmont continues the struggle against Wrede.
The French player commands the Grande Armée under Napoleon, MacDonald, and Marmont. Their task is to open the route back to France by clearing the coalition army blocking the main road to Frankfurt. Meanwhile, the Imperial Guard fights to escape the trap.
