About this board game

Gold Connection is a 1992 push-your-luck game for 2–4 players, with turns taking place inside a vault filled with gold bars. A full game lasts about 60 minutes, as players move between locations and attempt to capture valuable numbered bars.

Inspired by Sid Sackson’s classic Can’t Stop, the game centers on a tense decision: keep collecting gold or stop while your luck holds. Dice are rolled to make each capture attempt, and the position of a bar matters. Bigger-numbered bars that are farther from your starting location for that turn are the most difficult to acquire.

  • Players: 2–4
  • Playing time: approximately 60 minutes
  • Core mechanic: push your luck with repeated dice rolls
  • Setting: a vault filled with gold bars

On your turn, you may continue collecting gold for as long as you choose. Each additional attempt offers the chance to capture more bars, but a missed dice attempt ends the opportunity to keep collecting during that turn. Alternatively, you can decide that you have collected enough and stop voluntarily.

That balance between ambition and caution gives Gold Connection its central tension. Moving through the vault, judging distance, and weighing the difficulty of larger-numbered bars all feed into the decision of whether to press on or secure what you have gathered.
