About this board game

Twins is a card game for 3–6 players, with a playing time of about 30 minutes. Each round, players use pairs of cards from their hands to compete for money and the kitty in the center of the table.

The game includes a 60-card deck divided into six suits, with cards numbered from 1 to 10. Some cards display white numerals and others display black numerals. Each player begins a round with eight cards and may buy additional cards from the pool, while starting with 12 money.

Every round lasts four turns. On each turn, all players simultaneously reveal two cards from their hands. The strength of the revealed combination is determined by its type, with the sum of the card values serving as a tiebreaker.

  • Twins: two cards with the same numeral and the same numeral color
  • Pairs: two cards with the same numeral but different numeral colors
  • Colors: two cards of the same suit
  • Any other two-card combination

On the first turn, some players with the lowest-ranked cards pay two money to the kitty. On the second, some players with the highest-ranked cards each take three money. On the third, some players with the lowest-ranked cards pay one money and leave the round. The number of players who pay or receive money depends on the total number of players.

On the fourth turn, the player with the highest-ranked cards takes the kitty. Rounds continue until a player runs out of money, and the player with the most money wins. In Twins, every revealed pair can affect both your position and your funds.
