Twisted Trumpets

About this board game

Twisted Trumpets is a competitive tile-laying game for 2–4 players, playable in about 40 minutes, where you build a whimsical trumpet to become the kingdom’s new Royal Bugler.

On your turn, choose from three actions: draw a basic pipe tile from the face-down stack, trade for face-up premium tiles, or lay tiles on your player board. Your trumpet can twist and turn in every direction as you assemble it.

• Collect pipe tiles to create longer completed sections.
• Adorn your trumpet with flags, birds, and musical notes.
• Race to complete public Royal Decrees before your rivals.

Your trumpet’s decorations support different scoring criteria, while private Queen’s Plans cards challenge you to build in specific ways by the end of the game. Completing these public and private objectives can provide valuable extra points.

Building also lets you cover King’s Favor scrolls on your player board. When triggered, a scroll grants a powerful bonus: take a free premium tile, perform two additional actions, or gain another Queen’s Plans card. However, each repeated favor becomes less powerful and eventually unavailable, making timing an important part of your strategy.

The game ends when a player fills all but three squares on their player board. After the current round finishes, everyone takes one final turn before scoring the length of completed pipes, sets of flags, notes surrounding birds, public objectives, and private goals.

With a race for shared achievements and flexible trumpet-building choices, Twisted Trumpets combines colorful creativity with competitive scoring. The player with the most points wins the prestigious title of Royal Bugler.
