About this board game
Fallen Angels is a cooperative deduction game for 2–6 players, played in about 40 minutes. Set in Sydney, Australia, during the 1920s, it places the police amid an era of sly grog, prostitution, cocaine, theft, fraud, and razor-wielding gangsters.
The holding cells are overflowing, and your team must assemble enough evidence to convict each suspect. Rival crime queens Tilly Devine and Kate Leigh preside over a dangerous underworld, while the police work together to bring its cases to court.
Every card features two of six possible evidence icons on one side, but only one of those two icons on the reverse. Players fan their cards so they can see one set of icons while the other players see the other set. This creates a shared-information puzzle in which no player has the complete picture.
- Select a card on your turn.
- Have the other players arrange their hands to show which of their cards feature the icons they can see.
- Deduce the hidden icon or icons on your selected card, accounting for what the other players can see.
A correct deduction may provide enough evidence to convict a suspect. A wrong guess means that suspect is acquitted, so every clue and arrangement matters. To win, the team must convict ten suspects without acquitting too many.
With historical mugshots of real suspects arrested in Sydney during the 1920s razor gang era, Fallen Angels combines a distinctive visual setting with a tense test of communication, interpretation, and deduction.
