Ligny & Wavre 1815: The Empire’s Last Victories is a two-player game with a 600-minute playing time, covering the battles of Ligny and Wavre during Napoleon’s 1815 offensive in Belgium.

This complete game in the Jours de Gloire series presents two connected episodes from the campaign against the armies of Wellington and Blücher. It includes the 42nd and 43rd battles of the series, focusing on the clashes of June 16, 18, and 19, 1815.

• Ligny, June 16: Napoleon’s Armée du Nord attacks Blücher’s Prussians and inflicts a severe defeat. However, the bulk of the Prussian army survives and later plays a pivotal role at Waterloo.
• Wavre, June 18 and 19: Grouchy’s corps fights Thielmann while Napoleon is decisively defeated at Waterloo.
• What-if scenario: Explore what might have happened if Grouchy had been able to reinforce Napoleon at Waterloo.

The contrasting scenarios place the focus on different commanders and battlefield situations. At Ligny, Napoleon faces Blücher in his last victory; at Wavre, Grouchy and Thielmann fight two days of ultimately useless engagements as the larger campaign reaches its decisive moment elsewhere.

The additional scenario requires the Les Quatre-Bras and Waterloo 1815 modules. Together, these battles provide a focused look at the Imperial campaign’s final victories and the events surrounding the Waterloo campaign.
