About this board game

Indus 2500 BCE is a flip-and-write game for 1–5 players, with play time of about 60 minutes. Players develop a carefully planned city by drawing terrain patterns, reserving resources, and constructing buildings and protective walls.

On each turn, choose between two options. You can take a terrain card from the market and draw the pattern shown, including walls that help protect areas from calamities. Alternatively, you can reserve resources to build more advanced buildings.

The game continues as the city grows, with players working toward points from several different achievements. Score cards reveal opportunities to match, while artefacts, advanced structures, walls, and terrain variety all contribute to the final result.

  • Flip-and-write terrain development
  • Market-driven terrain card selection
  • Resource reservation for advanced buildings
  • Walls that protect against calamities
  • Victory points from score cards, artefacts, structures, walls, and terrain types

Calamity cards can destroy areas of the meticulously built city. The game ends immediately after a second calamity card is drawn and resolved, so the timing of construction and protection matters throughout the game.

In Indus 2500 BCE, the winner is the player with the most victory points. Released in 2020, it combines pattern drawing, city development, resource decisions, and multiple scoring routes in a compact historical-themed game.
