About this board game

Skulldug! is a pulp adventure-themed map-building exploration game for 1–6 players, with a playing time of 90 minutes.

Players take on the role of fortune-seeking adventurers exploring an ancient cave system in search of untold wealth. Each turn, action points help explorers reveal new map pieces, push deeper into the ruins, and face the dangers hidden within.

The cave offers more than treasure. Explorers may fight monsters, discover useful equipment, and set traps for their fellow fortune-seekers. If direct competition is more appealing, players can even steal another explorer’s spoils—at gunpoint, naturally.

• Explore by flipping over new map pieces.
• Fight monsters and uncover new treasure and equipment.
• Drop traps for rival adventurers.
• Race to collect three treasures and return to the cave entrance.

The path to victory is complicated by a dangerous curse: every treasure debilitates its holder. Collecting enough wealth to win is only part of the challenge, because the adventurer must also survive the journey back to the entrance tile.

In Skulldug!, every expedition combines discovery, danger, and rivalry. The first player to gather three treasures and make it back to the cave entrance is crowned the winner—but escaping the cave alive may prove harder than finding its riches.
