About this board game

Warp 6 is a mostly abstract race game for 2–3 players, with games lasting about 20 minutes. Each player guides a fleet of starships, represented by four-, six-, and eight-sided dice, along a spiral path toward the center wormhole.

On a turn, move one of your ships along the spiral exactly the number shown on its die. Instead of moving, you may change the number on a die up or down by one, giving you a way to adjust your future options.

The central mechanic is landing on another ship, whether it belongs to you or an opponent. When this happens, your ship slides down at least one loop of the spiral until it reaches an unoccupied space, allowing it to skip a significant amount of travel. The die is then rolled before being placed in the new landing spot.

These movements can create long chains that every player may exploit. Success in Warp 6 depends on knowing when to form, break, use, or foil those chains as the race develops.

  • Three-player game: the first player to get 4 of their 6 ships out wins.
  • Two-player game: the first player to get 6 of their 9 ships out wins.
  • Digital play: available through Boardspace.net with real-time or turn-based play and an AI option.

Boardspace.net also offers local and online play for iOS and Android. With its compact play time, variable die movement, and shared chain opportunities, Warp 6 combines a direct race to the wormhole with tactical positioning and timing.
