About this board game

Stonewall Uprising is an asymmetric deck-building game for 1–2 players that takes about 60 minutes, placing The Man and Pride on opposite sides of a fight for or against equal rights.

On each turn, choose whether to play a card from your hand or fold. Played cards move one of three tracks: Systemic Support, Public Opinion, or Individual Support. Reaching an end of a track triggers an immediate effect for the side it lands on before the track resets to the middle.

Folding lets you use the value of your hand at the end of the round to gain new cards from the market. However, once you fold, your opponent’s cards are doubled in value. You draw a card for each card they play while you are folded, creating a sharp decision about whether the extra cards are worth giving your opponent greater value.

The game progresses through the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. As the decades change, available cards shift, events can influence certain strategies, and your tactics must stretch and morph with the changing tides.

  • The Man: Detain and demoralize 10 people from Pride’s deck.
  • Pride: Shift the Overton Window and organize protests, demonstrations, and sit-ins to sway the public through its dice pool.

Stonewall Uprising ends immediately when either side achieves its goal, making every card play, fold, and track movement matter as the struggle develops beyond the 1980s.
