About this board game

Arkon is a fast-paced strategy card game for 2–4 players, played in about 30 minutes from one central deck of 52 cards. Each player takes the role of a mysterious outsider claiming to be a fabled mystic from long ago, seeking support among the clans of the Wildlands.

To win clans, players can compete in a silent auction, using cards for their influence values, or play cards as actions to take clans from opponents. The first player to get each of the four clans—or four clans of one type—out into play wins the game.

Every card offers multiple possibilities, creating constant tradeoffs. Use a card for an advantage, keep it in hand as a counter, or spend its influence to strengthen a bid and move closer to victory. Since action cards can be countered by their matching action cards, timing and hand management are central to every turn.

  • Bid for clans through a silent auction using card influence values.
  • Play actions to take clans from other players.
  • Counter matching actions while deciding which cards to hold in reserve.
  • Draw every turn to keep new options flowing throughout the game.

Arkon encourages players to form a plan while remaining ready to adapt when opponents interfere. Rival outsiders may pursue unity among the clans—or seek domination—while using subterfuge to disrupt one another. With cards serving both as actions and influence, few cards are truly dead in hand, keeping decisions meaningful from start to finish.
