About this board game
Nawalli: The Aztec Card Game is a creature battle card game for 1–4 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Take the role of a shapeshifting sorcerer and summon Nawals—creatures of the forest, ghosts, and monsters—to fight in the arenas.
The game includes four partially pre-built decks, each representing an Aztec god from one of the four directions: Tezkatlipoka, Tlalok, Ehakatl, and Xipe Totek. In the main game mode, choose a deck before drafting a complementary team of creatures, items, and spells for battle.
Every creature you summon has unique abilities connected to the twenty Aztec Daysigns. These powers can change how your Nawals move and attack, creating different ways to approach a fight.
- Eagle: lets your creatures fly one lane over to attack.
- Jaguar: allows a creature to shift one lane before attacking.
- Snake: allows a creature to eat defeated Nawals and absorb their powers.
Nawals can also be combined to create a hybrid creature with more health, greater power, and both sets of abilities. This gives shapeshifting a major role in developing your forces and finding powerful combinations.
However, shapeshifting completely restores a Nawal’s life. Finish off wounded opposing creatures before they can be transformed into a stronger play. With its Aztec mythology, draft-based preparation, creature abilities, and arena battles, Nawalli offers a focused card game built around summoning, combining, and timing your attacks.
