About this board game

Turin Market is an auction and set collection game for 2–5 players, playable in about 10–30 minutes. In this quick, interactive game, players compete to finish with the most Scudo, the game’s currency.

Each round, every player places one card from their hand in the center. The cards are revealed simultaneously, beginning a silent auction in which players compete for the available goods. The highest bidder receives the most cards, with the remaining cards distributed down the chain according to the bids.

Players who receive cards pay their full bid to the bank. Those who receive no card pay half their bid, rounded down, creating an important decision about when to spend and when to hold back. After the auction, players may put a card they won up for sale, using their own Scudo as collateral for the sale price.

  • 18 goods cards, each showing three of one good, two of another, and one of a third
  • Simultaneous card reveals and silent bidding
  • Player-driven sales, bluffing, and loans
  • Goods-based payouts at the end of the game

In 2–4 player games, five auction rounds lead into a payout phase. Players with the most of each good receive money from the bank, as well as 1 Scudo from each other player holding that good. Player counts can also bring slight rule variations, such as keeping a secret card until the end to add to a collection.

Once payouts are complete, loans are repaid: each loan taken for 10 Scudo costs 15 Scudo to repay. The player with the most Scudo wins. With its simple rules and substantial room for reading opponents and judging card value, Turin Market offers a compact test of timing, risk, and player interaction.
