About this board game

Fruit Passion is a memory-focused card game for 1–5 players that plays in about 25 minutes. Players collect fruit cards and build consecutive-number sequences while trying to remember which cards are hidden beneath each pile.

The deck features seven fruit types. Coconut, papaya, fig, avocado, pineapple, and pomegranate cards are numbered 1–5, while passion fruit runs from 1–7. On each turn, draw from one of three face-down decks or take the top card from the discard pile. Keep the card to begin or extend a fruit pile, or discard it if it does not fit your plans.

Cards in each pile are splayed so everyone can see how many cards have been collected, but only the number on the top card is visible. This creates a steadily growing memory challenge: you must recall the hidden numbers in your own collection while watching what other players may be completing.

  • Collect at most one sequence of each fruit type.
  • Score only consecutive numbers starting with 1.
  • A missing 1 or a duplicate number makes that fruit worth zero points.
  • Special colored numbers can form an additional cross-fruit “genius” sequence.

For example, a complete pineapple sequence from 1 through 5 scores 11 points, while a collection of 1, 2, 4, and 5 scores only the points for its consecutive 1–2 run. The colored genius numbers follow the fruit order, from coconut’s 1 through passion fruit’s 7, and score when their associated fruit sequences are valid.

When the decks run out, the final discard or collection ends the game. Add up the points from each successful fruit sequence and any genius sequence; the player with the highest total wins. As the 15th title in the E-G-G series of small-box games, Fruit Passion combines simple turns with tense, rewarding memory play.
