About this board game

Apogee is a management card game for 1–5 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes. Step into the role of a CEO in the emerging private spaceflight industry and compete to reach beyond Earth’s atmosphere.

In this new age of space entrepreneurship, space conquest is no longer driven solely by governments. Private companies aim to develop spaceflight faster and cheaper, while meeting the challenges of a commercial industry. Your task is to turn that ambition into a working rocket.

Several important responsibilities await as you develop your project:

• Recruit Engineers to support your spaceflight effort.
• Develop Technologies for your rocket.
• Build a rocket capable of launching a mass of several tons over 100km from the ground.
• Manage the time and funds invested in the project.

Success requires careful management, but you cannot focus only on your own company. Keep an eye on your opponents as they pursue the same feat and try to achieve it before you do. The competition creates a race to conquer the sky, where progress and planning must be balanced against the actions of other players.

Designed with an emphasis on fluidity and player interaction, Apogee keeps all participants involved in the game’s progress. As each CEO works toward a successful launch, the developing projects remain closely connected to the broader race for space.
